We are often asked how to make payments to Vodacom. Many people prefer a monthly debit order, but there are various other ways of paying your Vodacom account. The best way may be to add Vodacom as a beneficiary on your internet banking. Vodacom will either be listed as a bank approved beneficiary, or a public beneficiary. This means that you do not have to type in Vodacom’s bank account number. It’s so easy! Let’s take a look at all the ways you can make a payment to Vodacom.

EFT: Electronic funds transfer (EFT) provides a simple and reliable method of payment to settle your Vodacom accounts. EFT is available at all major banks in South Africa which makes it easily accessible to anyone with a bank account. Furthermore, no proof of payment is necessary which means your payment clears within 24 hours depending on your bank. To perform an EFT, follow the steps below.

  1. Log onto your preferred bank’s website and access internet banking.
     
  2. Select Vodacom (Pty) Ltd as a beneficiary (methods will differ across various banking platforms.  Vodacom will either be listed as a bank approved beneficiary or public beneficiary.)
     
  3. Please ensure that you use the account number on your invoice that you received via email or post to make your EFT payments. Alternatively, you can view this information on your eBill if you have signed up for the service.
     
  4. Enter your account number as your reference number as the both Vodacom and your bank will need to validate your payment.

    This will ensure the money paid into the correct account. Note you will receive an error if any of your details are incorrect.

For example, if your account number is I001245-6, enter it as I001245-6 (include the slash and last digit).Depending on your bank, the end digit will differ but there are three common formats that is used:

I001245-6 (standard end digit)

I0012456 (no slash with the end digit)

I001245 (No slash or end digit required)

Your bank will be able to advise on which method is accepted if this is not clear on your online banking portal.
 

  • Note that once Vodacom (PTY) Ltd is loaded as a beneficiary, you will only need to select Vodacom from your beneficiary list to pay your bills in the future.

If you would like to receive your monthly invoice and/or statements via email, simply activate eBilling online.

Over the counter: You have the option of making over the counter payments at any Standard Bank, ABSA, FNB or Nedbank branch. In order to ensure the correct allocation of your payment, please ensure that your name and account number is clearly and correctly stated on the relevant payment form.

ATM payment: Most banks offer this facility. In order to make use of the service, select Vodacom (Pty) Ltd from the beneficiary list supplied by your bank.
